Undefeated Season

Both of the Viking swimming teams, the boys and the girls, finished their dual meet season undefeated with victories over Homestead in their dual meet season finale. The girls finished with a perfect 7-0 record while the boys finished with a record of 5-0-1. Both teams are in first place after the dual meet portion of the season and look to defend their League Championships in two weeks at Palo Alto High School.

The girls beat Homestead 125-60. Jasmine Tosky and Sarah Liang led the way with two victories. Tosky won the 50 Freestyle with a time of 23.87, 1/100th of a second off of the automatic All American time standard, she followed that up with a 52.27 in the 100 Freestyle. Liang won the 200 IM in a time of 2:16.36 and then came back with a victory in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.09. Margaret Wenzlau won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 59.76 while Abby Duckett swam away from the field in the 500 Freestyle in a time of 5:21.45. Gracie Greenwood dove her way to first place in the diving portion of the meet with a score of 228.80. The girls also won the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay to finish of a strong meet and undefeated season. Up next for the girls is the League Championship swim meet, held at Palo Alto High School on May 5,6,7 and 8th.

The boys beat Homestead 101-82. Mark Higgins and Byron Sanborn led the way with two victories a piece. Higgins won the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:49.23 and then came back with a close victory in the 100 Freestyle edging out the competition with a time of 47.97. Sanborn took the 200 IM with a time of 2:06.88, then won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.90. Joseph Salavasan won the Diving competition with a score of 143.20. The meet finished off their undefeated season and puts them in the drivers seat for the League Championship. The boys get a chance to defend their title in two weeks as Palo Alto hosts the League Championship swim meet on May 5,6,7 and 8th.

Both of the JV teams were also victorious. The JV girls are undefeated with a 7-0 record while the boys picked up their 2nd victory of the season. Both teams will also be in competition at the League Championship meet in two weeks.
